We want to inform you about our processing of your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

1. Automatically generated website visitor information
We collect information and data that is automatically transmitted or generated by your browser each time you visit our website. Such information includes the IP address, the URLs of the site you visited before accessing our website (“referrer”), the browser used, the browser language, the operating system and user interface, the access device used, date and time of your access, the pages viewed on our website, and the time you spend on the website. Such data is stored for a period of 6 months and deleted automatically thereafter.
We process such data pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interests,
- to enable your access to and visit of the website,
- to improve our website and services and adapt them to the needs of our users,
- to create statistics on access channels and the use of our website,
- to perform internal quality checks,
- to prevent, detect, process and investigate malfunctions, incidents, fraudulent or other illegal activities, or mitigate the risk of occurrence of the aforementioned events and to ensure network and information security.
2. Contacting us
If you contact us by e-mail, we use the data you provided (usually your contact information and your inquiry) to respond. We keep your inquiries for a period of one year after answering your request pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. If you successfully apply for a membership, we keep your data for the term of your membership pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
3. Cookies
Our website sets a cookie upon your visit. Cookies are small text files that are stored by your browser on your computer or mobile device and which allow re-identification of your computer or mobile device, potentially across numerous websites. These cookies contain no personal data. Some of the cookies we use are deleted again upon expiry of the session, that is, when you close your browser (these are referred to as session cookies). Other cookies remain stored on your device and allow us, or our business partners to recognize your browser during subsequent visits (persistent cookies).

We use cookies for the sole purpose of recognizing editors and administrators of our website to facilitate our editors to log in and modify the content of our website pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not use cookies for tracking or similar purposes The cookie set by our website is a session cookie that is automatically deleted when you close your browser.
4. Participation in surveys
eficert carries out surveys among it's member institutes. Any participation will be kept confidential. No personally identifiable information will be associated with your responses to any reports of these data. Data collected in such surveys will only be published in a strictly anonymous form.
5. Digital Diplomas
Eficert cooperates with Diplomasafe ApS, Artillerivej 86, 1st floor, 2300 København S, Denmark (“Diplomasafe”), a provider for digital certificates, to provide you with the option to create a Diplomasafe account and claim your certificate in a digital version. Please note that the digital certificate is provided by Diplomasafe in its own responsibility as a separate data controller and on its own terms and not by Eficert, based on Diplomasafe’s terms and conditions (https://diplomasafe.com/eula/) and privacy policy (https://diplomasafe.com/privacy-policy/).
You may consent to having your data (name, date of birth, e-mail adress, date and place of receiving the certificate, the certificate number as well as the confirmed competences by the certificate) forwarded to Diplomasafe by using the questionnaire and consent form provided by Eficert. You may also have given consent to that effect to your education provider. In that event we receive the aforementioned data from your education provider and forward it to Diplomasafe. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent to forward the data to Diplomasafe at any time e.g. by sending an e-mail to Laura Keders. We delete your data at latest 90 days after forwarding it to Diplomasafe.
6. Data recipients
We may use third party service providers, in particular technical service providers. This includes hosting providers, web programming agencies and providers of survey tools. These service providers receive personal data solely for the performance of their services for us on our behalf. They are contractually obliged not to use personal data for other purposes.
7. Rights of the data subject, right to lodge complaints, right to object
In addition to the right to revoke your consent given to us, if applicable, you have right to request access to (Art. 15 GDPR) and rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or erasure (Art. 17 GDRP) of personal data or restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) and the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
You have the right to object against all types of processing described in this privacy information that are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21(1) GDPR).
